It's not necessarily a bad thing

It's easy to say that with every year that passes, it gets harder and harder to review FIFA. EA Sports' annual licensed franchise loves nothing more than to stick to Cheap Fifa Coins its guns, and with no real competition for its popularity crown, it's no surprise that this is the case.

FIFA 15 was another solid, very enjoyable installment in what's been a great run of form for the series over the last five or so years, and FIFA 16 attempts to continue the trend - but we're not sure if everyone will be happy with the relatively drastic gameplay changes that it introduces. Unfortunately then the game kicks off and I cannot remember finding any of the recent FIFAs even slightly as frustrating. This year promotional buzzwords promised Confidence in Defending, Control in Midfield' and Moments of Magic'. However in reality I'd have gone with Like Someone Stuck FIFA 15 on the Slowest Setting'.

It's not necessarily a bad thing-it certainly gives FIFA 16 a more realistic tempo-but given the fact many matches against the CPU are already unspectacular, low-scoring affairs, it leaves you with an experience that feels diligent, thoughtful, yet ultimately a little-whisper it-boring. FIFA 16 may occasionally give into the Dull Side of Fifa Coins the Force, but at least it's progressive in other areas.
